Warcodes 2025 Update:
Warcodes is a creature creation and KOTH (King of the Hill) battle mobile game. Warcodes uses AI to create a unique creation every time you scan a barcode. The UI (User Interface) for Warcodes is very simplistic and easy to use but it can be looked at as outdated. Some menus are not clearly visible for use and the user experience leaves a lot to be desired.
Which is why we are very happy to hear that there will be an all new UI and new areas to explore in Warcodia’s next update.
This update promises to bring new features and set the foundation for the future of Warcodes. It’s currently set to release before the end of May 2025. Sadly it won't include anything new for the PVP (player vs player) crowd, which is arguably the main focus of this game, but the developers promise that the next update to follow will be PvP focused. The developers are looking for feedback for that update which you can help with and follow along by joining the Warcodes Discord. https://discord.gg/warcodes As of now the PvP update, the one to follow this next update, will include a 5v5 battle game mode that will resemble the current Daily Challenge gameplay. Here’s what to expect in the May 2025 update:
Warcodia is the name of the new more interactive world each player will be able to navigate. There will be no more static UI screens! This is the main focus of this update. When the update goes live there might not be a lot to explore but there is promise of future expansions.Â
The marketplace will be completely redone and now include merchants. As of now the marketplace uses a tap-and-go system and is simple to navigate, this will still exist for certain purchasable items like the in-game tokens. Items your creature’s can equip will now be sold by Merchants. The developers teased being able to sell items to the merchants for tokens but that feature will not come with this update.Â
Social features will be changing as well. As of now you can only create custom KOTH games with your friends or strangers using randomly generated codes. Warcodia will be getting an add friend feature with this update. We can expect a friends list and we’re hoping for a chat feature. Although the developers stated they will be building the social side of the game in a future update.
On the PvE (player vs environment) side of the game is where this update is mainly focused. There will be all new challenges scattered around the world of Warcodia. The gameplay for these challenges will resemble today's Daily Challenge’s mechanics. The Mage, currently the strongest PvE creature, will no longer live in Warcodia. The Mage will say it’s final goodbye when this update is released.Â
There will also be an expansion in the Special Events area of Warcodes. Special Events are custom KOTH battlegrounds where players can win Legendary Potions. To learn what Legendary Potions do, check out this article:Â https://www.barcodearchive.com/post/warcodes-appearance-potion-breakdown
The developers are teasing multiple new Events in a day. Currently we see 2-3 Special Events within a week. These new Events will be 4-6 hours each. The developers are looking for feedback when this launches so be sure to join the Discord!Â
Finally the Barcode Scanner is getting enhanced! This is what makes Warcodes such a fun and unique game. Currently the Barcode Scanner is used to create creatures and occasionally you can find items while scanning. In this May 2025 update, the developers are adding the ability to level up the scanner. We will also be able to choose upgrades which will change the way the scanner performs, which we are hoping will look something like a skill-tree most RPGs have. These upgrades will let you enhance the way you scan, changing the way we hunt for loot, spawn creatures, and collect coins.Â
There may be further updates before launch so check back to find out more. https://www.barcodearchive.com/q-a  Â
The developers have teased a few more reveals in the coming month.
