Private Games - Warcodes

Warcodes is a mobile game that uses barcodes to create unique creatures using AI. The second most important mechanic this game uses to its advantage is to battle your creatures in the KOTH (King of the Hill) Lobby. This lobby has an opening time of 7 AM EST and closes at 1 AM EST and is the best way to accumulate tokens for free. For people who want to continue battling creatures while KOTH is closed or want to test out some of their less popular creatures in battle, Private Games are where you’ll want to be.

You can either create your own private game or join someone else's. When creating a private game you set the rules for the lobby. When joining private games, you can only join 5 at a time. If you want to join a new private game, you can leave an old one by tapping the lobby creator's name at the top of the screen and then tapping “Leave Game” at the bottom of the screen.

  • To begin creating a private game, tap the “+” next to Games under the Events list. You’ll be able to invite players by sending them a link or sharing your lobbies game code. Tap Create when you’re ready.

  • On the next screen you’ll see your game code on the top of the screen under your profile name and a “Share Invite Link” button at the bottom of the screen.

You’ll need at least 1 person to join your game to get to the next step.

  • Once you have enough players you can tap the “Start Game” button at the bottom of the screen.

  • On the next screen is where you’ll customize the rules for your lobby. At the top you’ll see a Select Game Mode drop-down menu. Currently you can only select a KOTH type game but there is a second option for Co-Op that will be implemented in the game at a later date. So for now leave it as KOTH.

  • Next you’ll set the duration for the KOTH lobby. The least amount of time a lobby can go for is 1 Day and the most amount of time is 5 Days. It’s important to note that creatures cannot be used in both private games and the main KOTH lobby. It’s a good idea to create a creature collection specifically for private games. Also, your creatures can become stuck dominating a Location in private games if the other players are not active in the lobby.

  • Next you’ll choose how many Locations each player can take control of. Unlimited, means any player can control all Locations at any time. Setting this to a number will set the number of Locations a player can dominate at any time.

  • At the bottom you’ll choose the Max Level a creature can be to compete on each Location. It’s best to set some variety here, especially when inviting strangers as it will make the game more interesting.

  • Once you start your game everyone in the lobby can now begin to battle for each Location. As mentioned above any creature used here cannot be used in the original KOTH lobby so it’s best to have specific creatures you will use for each game mode.

Private Games start with a prize pool of 5 tokens. The prize pool will increase as people battle, just like in the main KOTH lobby. The prize pool doesn’t increase the same way as in the main KOTH lobby so it’s not a good way to make extra tokens for free. Private Games are mainly used for scratching that itch for battle.

Here is a list of Active Private Games for those who are looking for an extra challenge or want to test out some of their less used creatures. This list may change over time.
